Donations are the foundation and backbone of Bags of Hope! So many of your Lake Norman neighbors have given monetary gifts and donations of food and supplies. Will you help too? Scroll down for ways to give.
Give Back to Feed a Local Student
Child sponsorship is $75 per month or $750 for the school year. Custom donation amounts and one-time gifts are also possible. Everything helps! Bags of Hope is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Give $750 to provide a full school year of weekend food bags for a hungry child.

Partnerships with food banks, grocery stores, and food distributors stretch our donated dollars for maximum impact. Will you join our growing list of donors to change lives in the Lake Norman area?
Donate Food
Bags of Hope relies on food donations from the community. We accept specific food items which are packed in our weekend food bags. Items like large boxes and glass containers will not fit in our bags. Unopened and individually wrapped, single-serve items work best. When donating, consider items and varieties that are kid-friendly!
Here are some examples of accepted food items:
Breakfast
Individual packs of oatmeal and grits, breakfast bars, cereal cups
Snacks
Individual serving size wrapped snacks: packs of Goldfish, Cheeze Its, Chex Mix, trail mix, chips, Rice Krispy Treats, cookie packs, packs of peanut butter crackers, granola bars, protein bars, pudding cups and fruit snacks
Lunch & Dinner
Ready-to-eat, hearty soups, canned pasta (ex: Chef Boyardee), Hormel Compleats meals (any variety), boxes of mac and cheese and Ramen noodle packs, small jars of peanut butter
Fruits & Veggies
Fruit cups, apple sauce cups, canned fruit (soup size cans), canned vegetables (green beans, corn, peas, mixed veggies, carrots)

Shiny New Backpacks
Kids are so proud of their shiny new backpacks. We're always looking for bags for newly added children.
Zip-close Plastic Bags
Large 2.5 gallon size. We try to re-use these, but they wear out quickly.
